silly kids

One morning shortly after school started in September, Lily remembered she had pink snow boots.  She pulled them out and insisted on wearing them with her carpi's most of the day, even though it was like a hundred degrees.  Lincoln is not one to be left out of any fun, and insisted on also wearing his snow boots.  Just some cute pics of my crazy kids in their snow boots during the summer.

Labor Day

On Labor Day we went on a hike and bike ride at one of our favorite local parks.  The park has a huge sandy hill that the kids love to climb.  Lily insisted on walking up herself until she could no longer reach the rope for support, she is one independent girl.  The bike ride we went on was a bit difficult for Carson.  He got a lot of encouragement from other people on the trail, I think that made him feel good.  But I know he really enjoyed the part of the trail where we headed down hill.  At a fork in the trail Nate told Carson the wrong way to go, so he had to stop and back track, and he was very mad that he "lost his speed." After all of our exercise we decided to stop by Goodies for some yummy ice cream it was a really fun day.

First Day of School

I always have mixed feelings on the first day of school.  Part of me is ready to be back on a schedule and part of me is sad to see the kids go.  The kids seemed excited to be starting school up again, but Carson did say he was disappointed to get home work again.  Well the morning of the first day didn't go exactly as planned.  The school bus that came to pick Carson up was not the same bus number I had given to his teacher, so I had to run to the school, find his teacher, and give her the proper information.  The result of this is that Carson did make it home on the proper bus, but that also the morning was very rushed and I wasn't able to give him a very good send off the first day.  When I saw him walking into class his eyes were huge and he was fighting off tears.  He is a very sweet boy.  Despite the hectic beginning of his first day he really had a great time.  Lincoln started preschool the next week and he was off the charts excited to get going to preschool.  He informed me as we got to the preschool that he didn't want me to walk him to his class, he didn't need me.  I appreciated his independence, but I walked him into his class anyway, he is not getting rid of me that easy.  Both boys are into a good school routine, and enjoying the school year.

pool time

One of the highlights of the summer is always the pool.  This year was no exception the kids all loved the pool.  We spent a lot of time just playing in the water.  The boys love it when Nate throws them around in the water.  Lily got brave this year and when swim around a little bit with her floaties.  She also loved squirting her brother with squirt guns.  The kids always loved to end pool time with a quick rinse in the shower.  I think Lincoln would have stayed in the shower the whole time if I had let him he loved getting in the hot water.  We love family pool time.

berry picking

I have almost given up getting caught up on all our summer adventures, because it is well October.  But I was going through my pictures and found some more that I had to post.  Nate's mom and sister came up to visit for a few days this summer, and we had a really fun time hanging out with them.  On one of the scorching hot days they were here we went berry picking up in Emmett.  It was fun and the pie that was made of all our hard work was delicious, but boy oh boy, was it hot.
