33 weeks and counting

Well I have made it to 33 weeks and the end of this pregnancy is finally in sight. This pregnancy has been VERY different than my previous two. First off, I started out this pregnancy extremely nauseous, which has never been one of the pregnancy symptoms I have had to suffer through. Also, I went into pre-term labor at 29 weeks and had to be hospitalized for about 2 days and on bed rest for about 10 days. This was a pretty shocking development, as you might imagine, especially for me who has never gone into labor without the help of pitocin. So I was quite surprised to find myself in the emergency room at the beginning of February having contractions every 5 minutes. They gave me many doses of the normal medication that is supposed to stop the contractions without success. Finally (about 4 hours latter), they admitted me to the hospital, gave me steroids for the baby in case they couldn't stop labor, and then gave me a good dose of morphine (which is a muscle relaxant not just a pain killer) in hopes of relaxing my uterus and stopping my contractions. The morphine did stop me from having regular contractions, but never stopped the contractions completely. So since February I have been taking it pretty easy and have been watching my contractions to make sure they don't get out of control. After the preterm labor incident Nate drilled into the kids head that we don't sit on mommy's lap, we don't climb on mommy, and we don't let mommy pick us up. The kids have taken this very seriously, and if one of them forgets and sits on my lap for example the other will remind him that we don't sit on mommy's lap. Lincoln who still really likes to sit on my lap tells me frequently "when baby come out of mommy's tummy I sit on lap," which is really cute but sad too because when the baby comes he is not going to get as much lap time as he thinks. On the plus side, I am more dilated than I ever have been previous to giving birth. Hopefully this means I can have this baby early, but not too early because I still have a lot to do to get ready for this kid. I am hoping to deliver around the 37 week mark but am not going to hold my breath waiting for that to happen since both of my two previous children didn't cooperate with my birthing plans. I am excited to get this little girl get here, and in recent weeks have gone a little nesting nuts doing little girlie crafts to get ready for her arrival. Girl stuff is soooo fun! I can't wait to have a girl in our family
