Time at home
Well, we have been having some car troubles, which has resulted in me spending A LOT of time in my house. It has not been all bad; some good has come out of it. First, I took some time to figure out how to get a decent action picture. I think my main problem was using the auto action mode on my camera, I should have known that it is always best to just shoot in Manual mode. Anyways, as a result Carson had fun jumping on his bed, and I had fun taking pictures of it. Secondly, Nate took Carson with him car shopping while I stayed home with Lincoln which was a good arrangement because I can't abide car shopping (I think most car salesmen are slimy and I hate all the pressure to buy. With all the wheeling and dealing it just drives me NUTS ). Staying home with Lincoln gave me the opportunity to get some good one-on-one time with him, which, lets face it, is sometimes a little bit hard for a second child to come by.

ROAAAAR!
Last weekend we went down to Utah for Nate’s sister’s baptism. We had a great time and it was so much fun to see everyone (our Christmas plans to visit were canceled due to the bubonic plague that hit our family). While we were in Utah, we visited the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point. Carson has recently fallen in love with dinosaurs. Santa brought him a dinosaur book for Christmas and since then he has learned the names of many dinosaurs and some interesting facts about them. Carson could tell you that T-Rex has 60 teeth each about the size of a steak knife, that stegosaurus is the dumbest dinosaur, and that Argentinosaurus was the biggest dinosaur ever. Carson had a great time at the museum. Many times Carson would be running ahead of us around a corner and called back "oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Come on!" His excitement made the trip sooooo fun! And although the museum is geared for kids I thought it had a lot of cool stuff in it that everyone could enjoy. It was a very fun family outing. Even Lincoln seemed to be fascinated by looking at the dinosaurs, and if we asked him what the dinosaur says he would make his cute little "AUHHHHH" (that his roaring sound).
Carson and Nate in front of Argentinosaras (At least we told Carson it was Argentinosarous, because thats his favorite dinosaur. It really is some other very large type of brontosaurus, but I figure he'll never know).
Besides being in love with dinosaurs, Carson also loves sharks. I don't know why but my son seems to love ferocious man eaters (I think it might be a boy thing).
Lincoln with a dinosaur just his size
At the musuem there was an area where the kids could play in mud with little plastic dinosaurs. Carson is showing me one of the dinos he found in the mud. I know Carson looks less than thrilled in this picture, that would be because as his mom I have never been one to encourage him to play in the dirt and mud, and as a consequence he doesn't much like to get dirty (notice how he is holding the dirty dinosaur by the very tip of the tail). I would apologize for not making my son a more manly lover of dirt, but truthfully I'm not sorry because if he loved to be dirty that would just mean more cleaning for me.
Carson did eventually overcome his dirt aversion and play around in the dirt. Unfortunately, Carson did a lot of his playing one-handed because he didn't want other children to take the dinosaurs he found.
Lincoln playing in the sand pit where you dig for dinosaur bones. While it took Lincoln a little bit to get comftorable with the sand, he is not yet showing the aversion to dirt that Carson has. He had a great time in the sand, and I had fun trying to keep him from eating too much of it.

And finally some actual pictures of dinosaurs. These are two T-Rex's fighting.

Such Sweet brothers
Carson and Lincoln are playing together and fighting together more and more. It is so fun when they are getting along. The other day I had the camera out when they were playing and caught them giving each other this really cute look.

His and Her Children
If you ask Carson we have his and her children at our house. Whenever I make a comment about "my boys" Carson kindly corrects me and informs me that he is Daddy's boy and Lincoln is my boy. I was at Old Navy the other day and found some pj's that went right along with this theme.

BEHOLD . . . the fury!! Lincoln living up to the saying on his pj's: "Mommy's Wild Child." He sure can be so sweet, but when his wrath comes out it is furious and very loud.
Spring weather
It warmed up to 55 degrees a couple weeks ago, but after the long winter it felt more like 70. So in celebration of the firs spring-like weather we went on a hike in the Boise foothills. It was a bit of a struggle to keep Carson focused on the hike because he found a big stick and frequently had to stop and draw in the mud (there was plenty of that). It's amazing how much he loves to make a muddy mess while Nate and I are making "Eeew" sounds.
