Lily's Christmas program

Lily's preschool did a cute little program at Christmas time.  The kids acted out the nativity, each kid had their own short speaking part. Lily got to be one of the shepherds. She was so excited to say her little part and sing the songs she had been practicing. Then the kids sang Christmas songs that were both about Christ and Santa.  It was a cute program.  

Christmas carnival

As part of our advent calendar this year, we went to a small, local, Christmas carnival.  The kids decorated cookies, pet a reindeer, won pizza, and dressed up like crazy people.  It was a fun, quick, little outing.

We ended up decorating the Christmas tree after church while Grant took his nap.  We finished most of the tree before he woke up from his nap.  We thought he might like to join in and help put on a few ornaments, we would be wrong in that assessment.  The older kids enjoyed the tree decorating, as usual.  And as usual, we had a lot of ornaments all clustered together in one spot.  I used to be much pickier about the Christmas tree. I used to rearrange and careful over see the placing of all the ornaments. Now I leave the tree (mostly) as the kids decorated it, and consider it done. Check and double check.  I can cross tree decorating off my holiday list!

Y-ball

We changed up our sports routine this year and switched Carson to Y ball.  He was on a team with a couple boys from our ward and from his class at school, which was fun.  The main reason for the switch is that we wanted to make our Saturdays a little less crazy.  Over all Y ball was a good experience we will probably do it again next year.  

Lily's dance recital

Lily did dance for the first time this fall.  She loved it!  She had her dance recital in early December and she was awesome! She attended dance with 2 of her little ward friends. Also, cousin June took dance from the same teacher so we got to see her preform as well. Lily's ballet song was "Let it go" which was obviously a huge hit with her and the other 4 year old girls in her class.  Her tap song was "Let it snow."  She seemed extremely confident on stage and knew all her steps pretty well.  She loved getting all prettied up for the recital, especially getting to wear makeup.  We are so proud of our little ballerina!

Teddy Bear Parade

At our elementary school the first graders put on a "Teddy Bear Parade."  Lincoln came up with this float idea all by himself.  He wanted the penguin to look like he was ice skating. I think it turned out pretty darn cute!
