Baby's First Christmas

It seems like Lincoln was around for last Christmas since our Christmas tree was still up when he came home from the hospital, and since I was so huge and pregnant that my belly probably could have been considered a seperate member of the family. But officially this is Lincolns first Christmas as a full fledged member of our family.

Merry 1st Christmas Lincoln!

The First Snow

Last week we got our first snow of the season. Carson and I went into the back yard and scraped together about a third of the snow from our back yard in our efforts to create this sad little snowman. In our defense, it wasn't very good snow for building a snowman. Hopefully, we will get a little bit more snow over the holidays so we can build a respectable snowman. After all, our last name is snow so it seems only right that we should have some skills when it comes to the white powdery stuff.

Carson's new obsession with firefighters carried over in the snowman's choice of hats.

More Holiday Cheer - Tree, Cookies, Eagle

We have been busy enjoying the season! Some of the things we have been up to are: Getting a Christmas tree, baking cookies, and going to the Eagle Christmas festival. The highlight of our Christmas tree hunt and decorating for me was that Nate let Carson help with almost everything to get the tree ready. Carson got to drive with Dad when hauling the Christmas tree hom, he helped saw off the end of the tree, and he "thought" he helped carry in the tree. He felt very important because he got to help so much. Several times while Carson was "helping" with the tree I tried to get him to come do something with me and he would say "I can't mom I'm very busy working" or "I'm doing important stuff mom." It was so cute and it gave him so much pride in himself thinking that he was being such a big helper. I really appreciate having a husband who takes the time to put forth the extra effort that makes our kids feel special. The Eagle Christmas festival was fun. The kids loved riding on the trolley from place to place, and seeing the live reindeer, but the highlight for Carson was getting to sit on the firetruck. And the best part of the cookie making (besides eating them) was seeing how excited Carson was to deliver our cookies to the neighbors. He insisted on holding every plate of cookies and telling people "Merry Christmas." It was really sweet.

Christmas Tree

Us standing by what I thought was going to be our Christmas tree. I found a much better tree about 10 mins latter
Nate and Carson giving the thumbs up sign and ready to drive home with what we thought was a securely tied on tree. Little did we know that we were going to have to drive 2o mph about half the way home because the tree started to fall off the back of the car.

Holidays

I know this is very late, but what can I say the Holidays get busy. We started out the Holidays this year by spending Thanksgiving in Utah, and had a very nice time with Nate's family. I had planned on taking pictures of the event, but after traveling in the car for four hours with a sick and exhausted baby, I was too tired and hungry to even think about pictures when dinner time rolled around. But it was a very very very good Thanksgiving dinner! That same weekend we thought we would start out the Christmas season by taking the boys on the Polar Express up in Heber City Utah (Carson LOVES the Polar Express movie). We played up the Polar Express big time. We drove around Heber a little bit and had Carson look for the Polar Express, and then when we found it we acted like we didn't know if we could ride on the train, because we didn't have any tickets (at this point Nate reminds Carson that in the movie the boy finds a ticket in his pocket). So Carson reaches into his pocket and finds his very own ticket. Carson was jumping around he was so excited to get on the train. I tried to get some cute pictures of him at the train station, but didn't get any because he wanted to stay in line to make sure that the train did not leave without him. Carson ate up the whole Polar Express trip. He absolutely loved it! Carson said his favorite part was getting his ticket punched by the conductor and getting a bell from Santa. The trip would have been perfect except that Lincoln was still sick and not in the mood to sit for an hour and a half. Overall the trip was a great success!
